Pink is my favorite color and there are lots of wonderful foods that are pink… well they are really red but let’s just pretend they are pink 😉 Red foods have many key vitamins and nutrients including lycopene, ellagic acid, quercetin, hesperidin, fiber, vitamin A + vitamin C. Do you know what many of these nutrients have in common!? They have antioxidant function meaning that they are able to scavenge free radicles in the body to decrease oxidative damage, which ultimately means a decrease in some chronic disease states like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Who’s ready for a little loco-cocoa this holiday season?! If you are anything like me you go a little loco for hot cocoa in the winter time. Hot cocoa is so yummy and so warm and its screams winter! After a long day on the ski hill or skating on the outdoor rink, all I want afterward is to sip a warm cup of cocoa. The only issue is… a lot of the store brand cocoa’s have a lot of sugar and additives. The good thing is that if you make your own all the ingredients are wholesome and can actually have some health benefits as well so you don’t have to feel guilty when drinking this delicious drink!
